Sean’s Fantasy Football Frenzy
At this point in the season we are getting used to the injuries and emerging superstars, who we race to the waiver wire for, only to see them fizzle out that first week that we start them. I was lucky enough to snag Victor Cruz after his first week of explosive play and ride his recent hot streak while Miles Austin recovered from a nagging hamstring injury. For this week’s bye week we see a few superstar running backs and wide receivers on the bye so here are a few fillers to get the job done for you this week.
Dane Sanzenbacher- Had a relatively quite game until the Bears final drive with less than a minute left. However, in that final drive he was targeted 5 times and clearly a guy Cutler can fall back on when he needs a go-to guy.
Curtis Painter- Has looked like a viable fill in option in select weeks and has built a good chemistry with Pierre Garcon. Not flashy numbers but solid numbers for a fill in this week.
Jonathan Dwyer- This suggestion all depends upon whether or not Mendenhall is able to play this weekend. If Mendenhall is unable to go then Dwyer is a must play. Late in the game the Steelers went to him and he answered with over 100 yards rushing.
Derrick Mason- Had a solid career in Tennessee and in Baltimore but was relatively quiet the first five games in New Jersey. Now he has been traded to Houston and they are still without Andre Johnson for this week’s matchup. Look for Mason to receive some looks but not put up explosive numbers in his first week in a new offense.
Harry Douglas- Atlanta will look to Douglas to fill the shoes of Julio Jones during this week’s matchup. Douglas has a few years in the organization and has a chemistry with Ryan so look to play Douglas this week.
